Accepting New Clients for Telehealth Therapy in Alabama
Chania offers speaking, training, and consultation for organizations, schools, community groups, healthcare programs, and workplaces seeking mental health education that is accessible, culturally responsive, and grounded in everyday realities.
Trainings are designed to help people better understand trauma, stress, grief, parenting, identity, emotional regulation, and barriers to care while offering tools they can actually use in their work, relationships, and communities.
Facilitated an interactive mental health session for teens focused on summer self-care, recognizing signs that mental health needs attention, practicing coping skills for stress, anger, anxiety, and overwhelm, and creating a simple summer self-care plan.
Presented by Courtney Benjamin, LPC-S, PMH-C and Chania Mitchell, MS, Associate Licensed Counselor, in partnership with EveryStep and Zero Suicide, projects of VitAL, Alabama Department of Public Health, and the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
This webinar explored the emotional complexity of the perinatal period, including fertility-related waiting periods, baby blues, postpartum adjustment, and the ongoing need for responsive clinical support. The presentation focused on bridging gaps between clinical care and the lived perinatal experience through informed, practical, and culturally responsive approaches.

My approach to speaking and training is grounded in the belief that mental health education should be understandable, practical, and connected to the full context of people’s lives.
That means I don't talk about mental health as if it happens in isolation. I make space for culture, community, family systems, access, grief, trauma, identity, oppression, resilience, and the real barriers people face when trying to get support.
The goal is not just awareness. The goal is to help people leave with language, tools, and a deeper understanding of how to care for themselves and others in ways that are realistic and sustainable.
